The story of a great leader

The story of a great leader

The board of directors and the entire team of Youth in Mind Foundation are pleased to announce the appointment of Mélanie Boucher to the position of CEO. Through her expertise in philanthropy and teens’ mental health since 2013, Ms. Boucher has made Jeunes en Tête a key organization in the prevention of psychological distress among adolescents in Quebec.

Mélanie Boucher joined the Fondation Québec Jeunes’ team as executive director in 2013. A position she will fill again during the merger with the Mental Illness Fondation in 2017, which will become the Fondation Jeunes en Tête.

As a child and teenager, Mélanie had to deal with anxiety disorders. As a young adult, she discovered the power of sports in helping her manage her stress and emotions. It is in this context that she carried out several sporting challenges in support of youth causes, notably the ascent of Kilimanjaro for the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Montreal-New York Running Challenge, for children from single-parent families. These commitments gave her the bug for philanthropy and encouraged her to invest both personally and professionally in young people.
