Our history

Fondation Jeunes en Tête was born of two sound foundations with several decades of experience working for the well-being of young people. Here are a few details highlighting the history of the Foundation.

1980

Birth of the Mental Illness Foundation under the guidance of Dr. Yves Lamontagne, an eminent psychiatrist who chaired the Collège des médecins du Quebec for many years.

1995

Creation of the Promexpo Foundation (which will later become Fondation Québec Jeunes) by a group of business people. The foundation promoted the physical and mental well-being of poor and homeless youth before changing its focus to help all young people between the ages of 11 and 17 who are in difficulty or in need of help.

1998

Development of the Partners for Life program (known as the Solidaires pour la vie program until 2016) by the Mental Illness Foundation. 1 million+ young people reached to this day!

2013

Launch of the Prix Inspiration by Fondation Québec Jeunes to highlight the work of extraordinary organizations.

2017

Inauguration of Fondation Jeunes en Tête through the merge of Fondation Québec Jeunes and the Mental Illness Foundation.

2019

NEW WORKSHOP

Launch of the new Mental Health Basics workshop for teens in grades 7 and 8, with the aim of fostering good mental health at an early age.

A strong vision

Fondation Jeunes en Tête is built on a strong vision carefully developed over the years: supporting the mental health and well-being of young people. Today, and every day, our foundation combines innovation and philanthropy to maximize the impact we have in society.
