Run for the cause!

From July 2 to August 2, the One Step at a Time project will be held.
Émilie Bédard, 16, will run 21 kilometers per day for a month to connect Thetford Mines to Ottawa via Quebec and Montreal.

“I am a 16 years old student at the Polyvalente of Thetford. I have been running since I was young. I’m on my school’s athletics team. The prevention of psychological distress among young people is close to my heart, because I needed myself psychological help in my early adolescence and saw loved ones go through similar ordeals. In recent years, the number of young people with mental health problems has exploded, while there is a blatant lack of resources. I believe it is important to equip young people and teach them to take care of their mental health. Then, they can support themselves during a more difficult time and prevent the problem from becoming bigger”.Émilie Bédard.
