MINI-GUIDE: MINDFULNESS FOR FAMILIES
Last November, Youth in Mind Foundation announced an all-new series of mini-guides for schools so that they can take concrete action for the mental health of students.
Today, we are very pleased to present the mini-guides for families! Developed to help parents and the adults in a teen’s life, these tools provide a wealth of information on a topic that affects your child’s mental health.
The first guide deals with mindfulness at home and can be downloaded for free.
In this mini-guide, you will find:
- A theoretical section on the origins, benefits and limitations of meditation
- Advice on starting meditation as a parent
- Tips on preparing your first session and practicing meditation with your child
- Some meditation examples to get you started
Feel free to spread this news to your family and friends!
Why practice mindfulness at home?
Mindfulness is a valuable ally for teens! It involves concentrating fully on what is happening in the present moment and is a way to reconnect with what is going on, both internally and externally.
With mindfulness, teens can:
- Better manage conflicts
- Stay calm when faced with complex emotions
- Manage everyday stress to then better react to difficulties in life
