Bell Let’s Talk tackles the mental health crisis among teens
To our immense delight, the 15th edition of the Bell Let’s Talk campaign on January 22 is turning the conversation to teen mental health. Recognizing the current crisis, Bell Canada has developed a national campaign highlighting the psychological distress experienced by today’s youth. Building awareness is critical, since mental health issues can often be avoided if action is taken early.
Fondation Jeunes en Tête is proud to be one of six Canadian organizations partnering with the annual initiative in 2025. The funds we will receive through this partnership will enable us to pursue our mission of raising mental health awareness among Quebec teens aged 11 to 18.
In the lead up to Bell Let’s Talk Day, Bell Canada released three promotional videos during the week of January 6. Each ad features a child and a troubling statistic about young people’s mental health today. These moving scenarios drive home the importance of taking timely action to help our teens cope with life’s challenges.
Viewers are exposed to several hard facts: 1 in 4 young people in Canada have had suicidal thoughts; 1.25 million young people need help; and 1 in 2 young Canadians are not getting the help they need.
Watch the campaign below.
Bell Canada has announced that it will donate $10 million to mental health this year. This will bring its investment in the cause to $184 million in total since 2010.
Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of our teens. On January 22, text “YOUTH” to 45678.
