Five Past Dawn Benefit Show in Support of the Youth in Mind Foundation

On October 3, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu will come alive with music, comedy and community spirit at a benefit show organized by local band Five Past Dawn. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Youth in Mind Foundation to support its youth mental health prevention initiatives for teens across Quebec.

Held at the Cabaret-Théâtre du Vieux-Saint-Jean, this community event will be hosted by Marianne Paquin and will feature several local artists.

A Fun and Festive Lineup

Comedy, music and great energy will fill the evening.

Guests will first be introduced to the comedy of Alexis Fortin and the music of DJ Antonin Prinz. The evening will conclude with a performance by the event’s host band, Five Past Dawn.

Marianne Paquin will host the event and guide the audience through this diverse lineup, created to offer a warm and entertaining evening for people of all ages.

Supporting Youth Mental Health

By choosing to support the Youth in Mind Foundation, the organizers hope to contribute to young people’s well-being and encourage more open conversations about mental health.

Denis Roy, the event’s lead organizer and a member of Five Past Dawn, explains why the group chose to support the Foundation:

When we first had the idea of organizing a benefit show, we had a few causes in mind, but we had not yet made a final decision. After doing some research, we discovered the Youth in Mind Foundation.

Our singer is the mother of two children, ages 10 and 12, so supporting a cause that contributes to young people’s well-being felt like a natural choice. Breaking down misconceptions about mental health and encouraging conversations about emotions are incredibly important. Now more than ever, we need to raise awareness of the resources available and help ensure that young people feel entitled to access them.

We are very proud to have chosen the Youth in Mind Foundation and to contribute to its mission in our own way.” – Denis Roy, lead organizer of the event and member of Five Past Dawn

Through its prevention initiatives, the Youth in Mind Foundation helps teens better understand what they are going through, recognize signs of distress and develop practical tools to care for their mental health. The Foundation also supports parents, school staff and the other adults who play an important role in young people’s lives.
